Great Convos

Hi Worlds!

Don't you just love cleaning the kitchen? Me neither. Except! when I listen to podcasts. Did you know that your brain registers more information when your hands are doing a small task as you listen? It can be doodling... repairing... knitting... or cleaning last night's greasy pan.

Here are four convos that I really enjoyed listening to recently:

"In this very special surprise episode, Phoebe and Jessica cuddle up with the Queen of Queens Michelle Obama, talking to the former First Lady about her new memoir Becoming, her hair journey, her struggle with the “Angry Black Female” stereotype, and how to raise bold women. Plus: Bono or Billy Joel? Listen, and be inspired."

Life in Limbo:
Stephanie Pellet x  Ameema Saeed

"This week on the podcast, I’m talking with my friend Ameema Saeed about why we both love reading so much, and what reading can teach us. I loved this conversation so much, since books and reading are one of my favourite topics and I believe we can learn so much from them. Ameema is smart and interesting and has a lot of important things to say about this topic, and it was so fun to chat with her."

WTF:
Marc Maron x Kenneth Lonergan

"Kenneth Lonergan doesn’t think there’s a real difference between comedy and drama, at least not in the way he writes and directs. The playwright-screenwriter-director talks with Marc about the lie of sentimentality, how ideas collapse when he’s writing and new ideas emerge, and why he hopes to get to 95% satisfaction with his work (he’s gotten to about 90% so far). That work includes Manchester By The Sea, Margaret, You Can Count On Me, and plays like The Waverly Gallery, which is now on Broadway."

Armchair Expert:
Dax Shepard x Talib Kweli

"Talib Kweli is an American hip hop recording artist, entrepreneur and social activist. He sits down with the Armchair Expert where they have an honest debate about many social issues plaguing America today. They touch on all of the topics one would generally avoid at the dinner table including race, gender and religion. In addition, Talib talks about his place in the hip-hop world, his parents' emphasis on education and his counterview to Sam Harris. Dax and Talib reminisce about an altercation they teamed up on, they talk about their mutual worship of Jay Z and Monica discusses the gender patterns she's observed from working on the podcast."

Enjoy!
